Premier Surgical Associates Selects Intergy EHR by Sage to Provide Integrated Electronic Health Records and Practice Management System
Tennessee surgeons to use integrated solution to achieve clinical and financial best practices
TAMPA, Fla. — October 6, 2008 — Premier Surgical Associates, a 25-surgeon group practice in Knoxville, Tenn., today announced that it selected the Intergy EHR by Sage integrated electronic health records (EHR) and physician practice management solution to drive clinical and financial best practices across its enterprise.
The group practice, which operates 10 locations in the Knoxville metropolitan area and several satellite offices in the surrounding counties, will phase in the single database, integrated practice management (PM) and electronic health record (EHR) by Dec. 10, 2008 and spring 2009, respectively.

The EHR will enhance patients’ experience and satisfaction by enabling the practice to electronically transmit prescriptions to their pharmacy of choice, verifying pharmacy benefits and co-pays to assist with medication selection, check for drug-to-drug interactions and respond more easily and promptly to patients’ questions and needs by using Intergy’s secure email option,” Burris stated. “Patients will also have access to Intergy’s secure portal to view and update their demographic information online prior to their scheduled appointment and review their medical record, saving them time and aggravation.”
He added, “Additionally, the EHR’s integration with PM will substantially boost the practice’s efficiency. For example, the robust claim scrubbing feature will not only help reduce the number of days in accounts receivables by 15 percent to 20 percent but will also cut the volume of claim denials by strengthening the practice’s ability to verify insurance eligibility.”
